The protests were staged in Lisbon, Porto and Faro. Taxis in the Algarve capital gathered along the EN125 national road leading to and from the Faro International Airport.
In Lisbon, scores of taxis gathered in Praça dos Restauradores, where they handed out black T-shirts saying “#Somos taxis” (We are taxis).
One of the taxi drivers’ main complaints is the “fact that the new platform regulation does not demand a minimum number of cars per municipality or region as is the case with taxis.”
