The National Education Union (FNE) said the strike is “inevitable” although in the same breath it said it could be avoided were the Education Ministry to “make certain commitments.”

The country’s two main teachers’ unions are united in this stance, which would affect secondary school Chemistry and Geography exams and Year Two Maths and Environment exams.

They are demanding between career and pension conditions.
