The PGDL said the employees, who worked for a ground handling company for air transport, are accused of the crimes of theft, misappropriation and misuse of trust.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s accusation, the workers took advantage of their positions loading and offloading baggage inside the terminal to steal from passengers’ cases, having taken or received hundreds of valuable items such as laptops, iPads, iPods, gold and other jewellery, perfumes and clothes.
According to the Public Prosecutor, the defendants who received stolen goods were aware of the illicit origin of the objects.
Two of the defendants, when they ceased to work for the company in question, took stolen assets that had been given to them for performing their duties.
The 25 defendants have been formally identified and are subject to the Term of Identity and
Residence.
