Continuing with its established Consulate in the Community initiative, the British Consulate in Portimão is presenting a series of talks in São Brás de Alportel on Thursday, 8 March, with the aim of raising awareness of the consular services and support available to British nationals in the area, and the work done by the consular team. The event will be held at the Museu do Trajo, Rua Dr José Dias Sancho 61, São Brás de Alportel commencing at 4.30pm and finishing at 6.30pm.

Talks will be given by British Consul Clive Jewell and Vice Consul Angela Morado, as well as David Thomas from Safe Communities Algarve, who will be talking about crime prevention in the Algarve, and Geoffrey Graham, from the British/Portuguese law firm Neville de Rougement, who will be discussing the importance of making a will in Portugal as a foreign resident. There are 100 places available and entrance is free so please confirm your attendance by completing the online form at www.ukinportugal. fco.gov.uk by Monday, 5 March.
A further event is scheduled for Wednesday, 21 March at the Hotel Vila Galé in Lagos when speakers will include a representative from the Department of Work and Pensions team based in Spain who will be talking about pensions and benefits available to British residents in Portugal.
