Czech president in Albufeira

The President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, aged 63, arrived at Faro International Airport this week for a two week holiday at his new villa located in Olhos de Água near Albufeira.

Journalists awaiting the arrival of the Czech President upon his arrival in Faro this week, were unable to enter the VIP section of the airport as the Czech Embassy had requested that airport authorities provide total privacy in terms of state protocol.
Along with Vaclav Havel, were only two members of his personal security team, not forgetting his two dogs.
Waiting for the president since July 27, was his 47-year-old wife, the former actress Dagmar Havlova-Veskrnova, who arrived here with a further two security guards and a nurse.
According to the Czech daily newspaper, Blesk, Havel's wife was in the Algarve to coordinate the arrival of their new villa's furniture, most of it originating from their other holiday home situated in Bohemia.
