In a statement published on Monday, investigators from the CINTESIS research group explained that they were looking to assess the effects moderate beer drinking had on the digestive tract of healthy individuals.
In order to qualify for the study, volunteers will have to drink a single beer each day, though some days might include an alcohol-free ale or one with a limited amount of alcohol. According to the research group leader, willing volunteers, who have to be between 18 and 65, should their application to join the group be successful, will have the “rare opportunity to contribute to gaining knowledge on the metabolic effects of beer drinking.”
