The Real Madrid superstar scored forty-two goals in forty-six games for the Spanish champions as they staged one of the greatest seasons in the history of the club.
Real Madrid attained four titles, a feat never previously matched. In a poll of eighty Champions League and Europa League coaches, together with fifty-five journalists, representing each of UEFA’s member associations, Ronaldo received 482 points, with Messi (141 points - Barcelona) and Buffon (109 points - Juventus) finishing second and third respectively.
Ronaldo said, “I’m so glad to be here, and honoured to win this trophy again. Thank you to my teammates and congratulations to them too. I’m so blessed – thanks also to the supporters of Real Madrid, and everyone who helped me to achieve this.”
