“Our idea is that the turnover of technology will exceed our main sector, which is tourism, within five years, and I think we will do it sooner”, said Miguel Albuquerque.

The president of the Regional Government (PSD/CDS-PP) said that, according to the latest data available, Madeiran technology companies have a turnover of more than €309 million, and it is possible that they currently exceed €350 million.

“Right now, Madeira has all the conditions to continue to be very attractive to technological companies”, he considered, arguing that the region “has a set of variants that are very attractive to investors: quality of life, a good health system, safety, good digital connections and a tax regime that is appealing”.

“Therefore, if we look at these five conditions of attractiveness, they are very important to host companies here”, reinforced Miguel Albuquerque.
