According to the weekly DGS report, 4,346,711 people have already been vaccinated with the first dose and 2,564,689 have completed their vaccination against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Compared to the previous week, 354,786 more people received the first dose, while another 245,979 completed the vaccination.

By age group, 97 percent of people over 80 years old (657,173) have already been inoculated with the first dose and 92 percent (624,504) have completed vaccination.

In the group between 65 and 79 years old, 95 percent (1,532,445) received one dose of the vaccine and 55 percent both doses, according to the report, which states that even in the group between 50 and 64 years old, 69 percent (1,488,961) have already started the vaccination process, a percentage that drops to 32 percent for people who have already a completed vaccination (689,637).

Between 25 and 49 years, 19 percent (623,151) have received the first dose and 10 percent (337,822) a completed the vaccination.

The report also shows that 6 percent of people between 18 and 24 years (43,239) already have the first dose of the vaccine, while 4 percent (28,487) have completed the process.

By region, the North continues to lead in the number of vaccines administered, with 2,394,683, followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (2,285,979), the Centre (1,245,185), Alentejo (371,996), the Algarve (269,716), Madeira (182,000) and the Azores (156,577).

Regarding vaccination coverage by regions, data from DGS indicate that Alentejo has 30 percent of the population with complete vaccination and the Centre has 29 percent, while the North has 27 percent, Algarve 24 percent and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo 20 percent.

Madeira has 30 percent of the population with a complete vaccination while the Azores registers 25 percent.

Since the start of the vaccination plan, on December 27, 2020, Portugal has already received 7,880,400 vaccines, with 6,896,272 doses being distributed by the country's vaccination posts.

More than one million people have already requested an appointment to receive the vaccine against Covid-19 on the self-scheduling platform.
