Today's epidemiological bulletin records a total of 364 people hospitalised, 88 of which are in intensive care units, where five more patients were admitted.

This is the highest number of admissions of patients with covid-19 since April 26, when 365 people were admitted.

Most of the new cases of infection (804) were diagnosed in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region.

Health authorities count over 569 active cases, for a total of 26,817, while 662 people have been reported as recovered, totalling 817,754 since the first cases of infection.

The number of contacts under surveillance increased by 1,445 in the last 24 hours and now reaches 33,732 people.

The national transmissibility index (Rt) of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is situated at 1.12 and the incidence of infection cases per 100,000 population is at 91.

In the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo there are so far 328,773 cases of infection and 7,234 deaths with covid-19, one of which in the last 24 hours.

The Northern region now has 196 new infections by SARS-CoV-2, totalling 343,006 cases of infection and 5,361 deaths since the start of the pandemic, one of which in the last 24 hours.

In the Centre region there were more than 81 cases, totalling 120,772 infections and 3,025 deaths.

In the Alentejo, 47 more cases were reported, totalling 30,547 infections and 971 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the Algarve region, today's bulletin reveals that 73 new cases were registered, totalling 22,852 infections and 364 deaths.

The Autonomous Region of Madeira registered twelve new cases, totalling 9,815 cases and 69 deaths with covid-19 since March 2020.

The Azores now have 20 new cases and account for 5,863 cases and 33 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The greatest number of deaths continues to be concentrated in the elderly over 80 years old, followed by the age group between 70 and 79 years old.
