A company source told Lusa news agency that the group has the goal of operating 12 units and 600 rooms by 2025.

In a statement, Sonae Capital Hotelaria said that this brand is being presented “at the time of tourism recovery” and assumes “a more ambitious position and greater implementation in the national market, with two openings planned in Lisbon and Porto in the coming months, totalling eight units under the new brand”.

The eight units in question are: The Porto Palácio Hotel by The Editory, Aqualuz Hotels by The Editory (Troia, Lagos), The Editory by the Sea (Troia, Comporta), The Editory Artist (Downtown, Porto), The Editory House ( Ribeira, Porto), The Editory Riverside (Santa Apolónia, Lisbon) scheduled to open in October, The Editory Boulevard (Aliados, Porto) to open in the first months of 2022 and the tourist apartments under management in Tróia, Troia Residence by The Editory, the company said.

“After more than 35 years of experience in the hotel industry and with a growth in our market share, which points to a dozen hotels in the short term, the creation of a transversal brand was necessary for a long time,” said Isabel Tavares, director of Marketing and Sales of Sonae Capital Hotelaria.

“The Editory is a brand that was created to reposition our hotels in the market as we prepare to open two more units in the main urban centres of the country”, in other words, Lisbon and Porto, with an offer “adapted to current trends and with a focus on expansion”.
