According to the 2020 annual report, in the year in which it celebrated 30 years of existence, APAV recorded 66,408 visits by persons who were victims, to clarify information and other issues.

About 75 percent of the total direct victims of crime were female and the most frequent age groups were between 25 and 54 years of age, representing a total of 38.3 percent.

Crimes against people (95.1 percent) were more common last year, with special emphasis on crimes of domestic violence (75.4 percent). Crimes against property, which in 2020 represented 2.5 percent of the total reported by APAV, registered an increase of 0.7 percent in relation to the previous year.

In the various proximity services - Victim Support Offices, Mobile Victim Support Teams, Roaming Assistance Poles, Integrated Distance Support System, Specialised Subnets, Shelters and Safe Internet Line - 66,408 calls were registered.
