The 1998 European Human Rights legislation permits freedom of speech, and, it is fair to say, Portugal’s authorities fail to act upon the 16 protocols and which on a daily basis ride roughshod over our fundamental rights. It’s simple, Mr. Knight, Portugal should act and behave like a real European State instead of living in fantasyland, and join the 21st Century and respect the 16 protocols if you don’t want criticism. We will not be silenced or intimidated by anyone and we Brits shall have our say that are resident in Portugal.

D. Johnson,
