In Alentejo 13 more cases were reported, totalling 30,116 infections and 971 deaths.

In the Algarve region, the bulletin reveals that 18 more infections were registered, accumulating 22,190 cases and 363 deaths.

The Autonomous Region of Madeira recorded one death and 18 new infections, accounting for 9,660 cases and 69 deaths due to Covid-19.

The Azores recorded 26 new cases today, accounting for 5,287 cases and 33 deaths since the start of the pandemic, according to the DGS.

The regional authorities of the Azores and Madeira release their data daily, which may not coincide with the information released in the bulletin.

The new coronavirus has already infected at least 461,540 women and 384,534 men in Portugal, DGS data show, according to which there are 360 cases of unknown gender, which are under investigation as this information is not provided automatically.

Of the total number of fatalities, 8,940 were men and 8,082 women.

The highest number of deaths continues to be concentrated among the elderly over 80 years of age, followed by the age group between 70 and 79 years.

The transmissibility index (Rt) of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus continues to rise, standing today at 1.07, while the incidence of cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 14 days increased to 57.8.
