Yes, according to current legislation access to tourist or local accommodation establishments, regardless of the day of the week or time, depend on the presentation, by customers at check-in of an EU Digital COVID Certificate or a test with a negative result. If the consumer chooses to take a test, then it is possible to choose from the various testing options. It is possible to choose to perform a laboratory nucleic acid amplification test (TAAN) in the 72 hours prior to your presentation for the check-in; rapid antigen test (TRAg), verified by a certified entity within 48 hours prior to submission; rapid antigen test (TRAg), in the form of self-test, within 24 hours prior to its presentation, in the presence of a health or pharmaceutical professional who certifies that it has been carried out and the respective result; rapid antigen test (TRAg), in the form of self-test, at the moment, at the door of the establishment under the supervision of those responsible for it.

I have a reservation for September in a local accommodation, but now I fear for an active outbreak at the destination. For this reason, I want to cancel my local accommodation reservation. Can I do it without paying any penalty?

If you have made the reservation through an electronic platform, please also consult the specific conditions on the platform, since the reservation conditions can be managed, solely and exclusively, through these new contracting mechanisms. Don’t forget that you will need to present the digital certificate or to demonstrate that you have taken a test to screen for SARS-CoV2 infection.

I had an accommodation reservation for the beginning of September and, considering this whole Covid outbreak, aggravated by this new variant, the owner called me saying that he wanted to reschedule the reservation for fear of a new pandemic wave. He suggested a date that I don’t like and for that reason I want to be refunded for the amount I paid. Can i request a refund?

The parties will have to abide by the conditions of the accommodation cancellation policy. If nothing is foreseen regarding the cancellation by the owner, then the consumer has the right to ask for a refund of what was paid.
