If you are anything like me, you will find crystals very beautiful and their alleged powers fascinating. However, if you’ve ever tried to ‘dig any deeper’ you would almost certainly have found that the world of crystals is, well… just as deep as the holes that had to be dug to find them in the first place. You may soon have found yourself overwhelmed.

That's why The Portugal News thought it would be nice to break it up into easily digestible bitesize chunks and has recently teamed up with Jami, a crystal shop located in downtown Faro - teeming with all kinds of these weird and wonderful gemstones.

The shop is run by a sweet couple called João AMetista and Ida (hence Jami). They have very kindly agreed to take the time to ease us into this mysterious and sometimes sparkly world and will present us every month with a crystal of their choice. I’ll let them take it from here…

Zoisite with Ruby

This variety of green Zoisite with Ruby and some black points of a special crystal named Tschermakite is considered a metamorphic rock called Aniolite.

There are other varieties, the most common being Thulite (pink) and Tanzanite (violet or blue).

Where is it found?

It is found in the Republic of Kenya, Switzerland, Austria, India, Pakistan, and the US.

The benefits

This crystal gives us a clear perception that life has its ups and downs but it is worth going through because in the end we realize that it was rewarding. We can often be down, without motivation or strength to continue but Zoisite with Ruby also shows us that the universe is balanced. There’s no shortage of anything. It promotes confidence in the life process, optimism and abundance.

It has strong spiritual healing power, freeing our hearts and thoughts from the hurt and pain of past events, allowing us to continue on our path. With the pandemic and the return to work, pet abandonment has increased. This crystal promotes union and strengthens the bond between humans and their pets. It helps the caregiver to be patient and learn from their animals.
