Miguel Oliveira (KTM) has admitted he is “looking forward” to racing again in Portugal, in the third round of the MotoGP World Championship, which will take place on 18 April at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) in Portimão.

After dominating the 2020 Portuguese race, the year in which the MotoGP World Championship returned to Portugal for the first time since 2012, Oliveira was able to scoop a victory, pole position and the fastest lap of the race on his home turf, something he is hoping to repeat again this month.

“Racing at home is a privilege. I look forward to it. Like last year, I will arrive with a huge desire to do well and to get the job done well so that all of the Portuguese fans can enjoy the race”, said the KTM rider.

After two races filled with problems in Qatar, at the opening of the championship, Miguel Oliveira is currently in 14th position in the championship, with four points, after coming 13th and 15th.

Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati) will be arriving in Portimão at the top of the championship, with 40 points.
