The new competition of the Portuguese Skating Federation (FPP), which was presented at a press conference in Mealhada, district of Aveiro, intends to honour for the first time that Portugal became champion of the World and Europe in roller hockey, in the year 1947, according to Lusa News Agency.

President of FPP, Luís Sénica, intends for the new competition to "assert itself in the national panorama" of roller hockey, emphasising that the 1947 Cup was born out of "the will of the clubs".

For the president of FPP, the new competition "will be a milestone in terms of the future and projection" of roller hockey.
