“Moreirense Futebol Clube - Futebol SAD reports that it reached an agreement with coach Ricardo Soares to break the bond that unites them, this happens by mutual agreement and in the most cordial way, wishing him the greatest sporting and personal successes,” reads a statement published on the Minhotos official website.
Ricardo Soares, 45, arrived at the Moreira de Cónegos emblem in December 2019, coming from Sporting da Covilhã, to replace Vítor Campelos, having taken the Vimaranense emblem to the eighth position in the last edition of the Primeira Liga, with 43 points.
The natural coach of Felgueiras completed his third passage in the elite of Portuguese football, after guiding Desportivo de Chaves (2016/17) and Desportivo das Aves (2017/18), as well as with other experiences lived in lower divisions.
Moreirense occupies 11th position in the Primeira Liga, with eight points, at a time when the training sessions are suspended due to the outbreak of Covid-19 that struck the club last week and led to 30 cases of infection, most of which are asymptomatic.
The match for Vimaranenses is the visit to Merelinense, part of the third qualifying round of the Cup of Portugal and scheduled for 22 November at 3pm at the Stadium João Soares Vieira, in Merelim São Pedro, parish of the municipality of Braga.
