The institute classifies the drought meteorological index into nine classes, which varies between “extreme rain” and “extreme drought”.

In addition to the drought index, the Bulletin about the weather available on the IPMA website indicates that the month of November was classified as very hot in relation to air temperature and normal in relation to precipitation, according to Lusa News Agency.
