According to a table released by the Football Observatory (CIES), Dias sits in second place with Harry Maguire taking the top spot.

Midfielder Bruno Fernandes, Maguire’s teammate at Manchester United, comes in fourth, just behind Argentine Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona.

According to CIES data, which took into account the games played until 18 December, defender Maguire has racked up a total of 4,745 minutes in 53 games, 401 more than Rúben Dias (4,344), followed by Messi, with 4,293, and Bruno Fernandes, with 4,164.

Congolese defender Mbemba, with 3,768 minutes, and Mexican striker Jesus Corona, who added 3,682 minutes of play in 2020, both for FC Porto, are the only two players in the Portuguese league to figure in the top 100, occupying positions 56 and 79, respectively.

Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo, from Juventus, comes in at number 85 on the list, which does not include goalkeepers, with a total of 3,668 minutes.
CIES also released a list of goalkeepers with the most minutes played, which is led by Marcelo Lomba, of the Brazilians at Internacional, who totals 4,740 minutes, and is followed by three compatriots: Weverton Pereira (Palmeiras), Fernando Prass (Ceará) ) and Tiago Volpi (São Paulo).

Benfica’s Greek goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos appears in 28th position, with 3,780 minutes played, while Portuguese international Rui Patrício, from the English team Wolverhampton, is 37th in the table, with 3,690 minutes.
Matheus Lima, Sporting de Braga goalkeeper, occupies the 54th place, with 3,510 minutes played in 2020.
