Portugal registered today 219 deaths related to Covid-19 and 14,647 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus, the highest figures since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Directorate General for Health (DGS).
The bulletin also reveals that 5,493 people are admitted, 202 more than on Tuesday, of whom 681 are in intensive care units, i.e. 11 more, two figures that also represent new highs for the pandemic phase.
The number of hospitalisations has been rising since 1 January, the day on which there were 2,806 people in hospital.
