Lisbon tram accident leaves 4 injured

Four people were injured on 3 February due to the derailment of a tram, followed by a collision with another, in downtown Lisbon, with one of those injured being taken to the São José Hospital, reported PSP.

"It was not an accident between two trams, but the derailment of one tram that resulted in a collision with another tram," told PSP to Lusa agency.

According to the Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis), the collision occurred in Praça da Figueira, with the warning being given at 11:35.

“There are four people injured. Three of them were pedestrians who ended up being run over, the other is a man who was inside one of the trams and was wounded” said the same source.

According to Cometlis, of the people who were run over, only one had to be transported to hospital, while the others will have received assistance on the ground.

Asked about the clinical condition of the injured man, who was transported to the Hospital de São José, the PSP was unable to specify whether it was a serious or minor injury.
