A “reef break” is one kind of break that can be found in the ocean. It is created by a reef, commonly coral, though it could also be a rocky seabed that is elevated underwater and thus causing waves to always break in the same spot. These spots can make for amazing waves, but in some places the water is so shallow that you might not have much more than half a metre of water between you and the razor-sharp corals.
