Azores under yellow warning

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) today placed the Azores archipelago under yellow warning due to the forecast of rain, sometimes heavy, and thunderstorm, a situation that should begin for affecting the western group.

Thus, for the islands of the western group (Flores and Corvo), the yellow warning is already active, remaining until 6 pm today (7 pm in Lisbon), taking into account forecasts of rain, sometimes heavy, and may be accompanied by a thunderstorm.

The same weather conditions are foreseen for the eastern group (São Miguel and Santa Maria), which will be under yellow warning from 3 pm today and until 3 pm on Wednesday, the same happening with the central group (Terceira, São Jorge, Pico, Graciosa and Faial).
