House prices continue upward trend

The average sale price of residential property in Portugal jumped almost 18 percent during the first quarter of the year.

The increase was also marked by a substantial rise in the number of listed properties, which were up 88 percent on 12 months ago.

Rental properties also grew in number, up more than 100 percent on last year, though their value dropped by close to 10 percent, down to 840 euros a month.

Lisbon meanwhile tops the value of real estate, with the average value of properties sold sitting at 353,000 euros.
