Six people were arrested on 28 April by the PJ's Unit for Combating Cybercrime and Technological Crime, which conducted 31 searches in an operation to combat improper access to bank accounts via the Internet.

A source from the Judicial Police (PJ) told Lusa news agency that the operation is taking place in the Greater Lisbon area and that about 120 inspectors are involved.

The same source said that various computer equipment had been seized in the operation, which was still under way at 11.30am.

The PJ will issue a statement on the police operation, which was initially reported by TVI.
