Travellers from countries where 500 or more cases per 100,000 people have been reported over a 14-day period - which also include South Africa, France and the Netherlands - can only enter Portugal if they have a valid reason, such as for work or healthcare, the government said on Saturday.
Arrivals must then quarantine for 14 days. The decision on India means Portugal is joining a growing number of countries imposing such restrictions.

This shows the REAL DEATH TOLL of the INDIAN STATE - WHICH IS BEING HIDDEN BY THE GOI !
The DAILY VAX count is 1.4 million and at this rate IT WILL TAKE 1000 DAYS TO VAX INDIA !
EVEN AFTER 12 MONTHS THE DAILY TESTS ARE 1.5 MILLION AND THE POSITIVITY RATES ARE MORE THAN 20% AND IN SOME STATES IT IS MORE THAN 50% ! ON TOP OF THAT THE VIRUS IS NOT BEING DETECTED IN THE RTPCR !
The Indian Hospitals are now bursting at the seams.There are no beds,no oxygen and no Vaxes.
The only way to solve the load on beds and O2 - is to REDUCE TESTING.
After 12 months of COVID - the GOI has only 1.5 million tests a day and a 20% positivity rate.If they DOUBLE the tests - U WILL HAVE A DISASTER !
By NOT testing - the GOI is allowing the COVID SPREAD TO ACCELERATE !

I have been trying to find information about this statement on the Portuguese government websites: "must comply with a 14-day quarantine period at home or at a place indicated by the health authorities". I am travelling from a country with a covid variant of concern and am staying in an apartment in Lisbon but I am sharing with other people. I guess I will not be allowed to self-isolate there. About the "place indicated by the health authorities", does anyone know whether this is a hotel? Would you be put into a four or five-star hotel? Can you choose to stay in a cheaper hotel? Maybe you stay on a military base? I have asked SEF (borders and immigration) who told me to ask the health authorities. The health authorities don't answer my questions but give me information I already know or send me links that do not have the information. Are there any people out there that have been in quarantine in Portugal. I would appreciate it if someone could please help me with some information.
