Along with Portugal, Gibraltar and Israel were also added to the Green List. The Red list saw the addition of Turkey, The Maldives, and Nepal.

Grant Shapps today at the COVID-19 downing street press conference announced the first "tentative steps to unlock international travel" saying also that travel is crucial to rebuilding the British economy. Saying that Britian's success in vacinating their population has not been duplicated across the globe. We must make sure the countries we re-connect with have safe and secure surveillance in place and acceptable virus infection rates and vaccination programs.

What would be good is a pre negotiated set of test centres in portugal at a good negotiated price so people can book their return test before they travel - provides surety of test and getting the results in time for the return flight and gives a guarantee of what the cost will be . If portugsl really wants British tourists , they should provide free testing ( just like they do in France )
