People arriving in England from one of these countries will need a negative pre-departure Covid test, and will have not have to isolate upon their return. After the second day back in the UK they will need to take and PCR Covid test.

What would be good is a pre negotiated set of test centres in portugal at a good negotiated price so people can book their return test before they travel - provides surety of test and getting the results in time for the return flight and gives a guarantee of what the cost will be . If portugsl really wants British tourists , they should provide free testing ( just like they do in France )
