Maritime Police investigates shipwreck on Fuseta beach

Maritime Police are investigating a shipwreck on Fuseta beach.

The GNR’s Coastal Control Unit alerted the Maritime Police at around 2:30am yesterday morning that a sunken vessel was located off Fuseta beach.

The local auxiliary vessel, about 6.5 meters long, sank off the beach of Fuseta, in Olhão. No victims were found, but Maritime Police are investigating the circumstances in which it happened.

According to reports the owner of the boat has come forward and said it capsized while he was cockle picking.
