The Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) detained a foreign national on 27 May at Lisbon Airport on suspicion of aiding illegal immigration and document fraud when she tried to bring an Albanian national, who was also detained, into the United Kingdom.

In a statement released on 27 May, SEF said that the woman, whose nationality was not disclosed, was trying to enter the United Kingdom, via Lisbon, with an Albanian citizen, who was also arrested for presenting a forged European travel document.

The two citizens were arrested at the airport's international departures border control when they were preparing to board a flight bound for Bristol, in the United Kingdom.

The note states that the situation was monitored by elements of the Border Directorate in Lisbon, based on the exchange of information with foreign counterparts.
