Portuguese footballers Bruno Fernandes and João Félix both appear in the ‘top 10’ of players with the highest transfer values, while Rúben Dias is ranked as the most expensive centre back according to the Football Observatory (CIES).

In a list drawn up from the top five European leagues (Germany, England, Italy, Spain and France), Bruno Fernandes, from Manchester United, is in fifth position and is highlighted as the most expensive Portuguese player today, with a value of around €154 .3 million.

Just below Fernandes, in ninth place, comes João Félix, from Atlético Madrid, with an estimated transfer value of €127.8 million.

For CIES, Phil Foden, from Manchester City, is the most expensive player on the market, valued at €190.2 million, followed by Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, both from Manchester United, valued at €178 million and €159.1 million, respectively.

Rúben Dias, who was recently voted the best player in the Premier League for Manchester City, appears in 16th place, with a value of around €114 million, but holds the title for the most expensive centre back in football currently.

Also within the ‘top 20’, in 19th place is Bernardo Silva, also from Manchester City, who appears with a value of €104.2 million.

In the list of 100 drawn up by CIES, in which Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are not featured, Portuguese football is also represented by Pedro Neto, from Wolverhampton (31st at €85.5 million), Diogo Jota, from Liverpool ( 56th at €66.5 million), Francisco Trincão, from FC Barcelona (67th at €62.2 million), João Cancelo from Manchester City (68th at €62 million) and Rafael Leão, from AC Milan (86th at €54.4 million).
