The installation of television screens in public spaces during the Euro2020 period will not be authorised by the Lisbon City Council.

The decision by the council has been taken in the context of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the local area and to help avoid the gathering of crowds and celebrations during the Euro2020 tournament.

In the communiqué, the council also appealed to the "duty of all" and compliance with health rules issued by the Directorate-General for Health.

The city of Lisbon is among the 10 municipalities in mainland Portugal that are not in the new phase of the easing of lockdown plan, in force since 10 June.
