Until 21 September, traffic will be cut off on Fridays and Saturdays, between 4:00 pm and 11:30 pm, and on Sundays, between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

The local authority recalls that, with the launch of the summer in the City-Garden initiative, the historic centre "will be one of the privileged stages of this season to host a programme, specially prepared for all audiences".

According to the municipality, "the Municipal Police of Viseu will be responsible for carrying out the respective traffic cuts, monitoring and providing support in the field".

This prohibition covers the main accesses to the old area, namely at the beginning of Rua dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra and at Travessa da Misericórdia with the Churchyard, keeping circulation along Calçada da Vigia.

Exceptionally, access will be authorized for residents and clients of the Palácio dos Melos and Casa da Sé hotels through Porta do Soar, in the opposite direction, with the exit being carried out at Rua D. Duarte and Rua do Carmo. Access to Rua do Carmo may take on an alternative access as of 1 July, with the start of initiatives on Rua Direita.

During times of worship and religious ceremonies held at the Cathedral of Viseu or at the Igreja da Misericórdia, access to the churchyard will be allowed by Travessa da Misericórdia.
