The Maritime Police found around 800 people aged between 16 and 18 at a gathering, not complying with the safety rules on Oura beach, in Albufeira.

According to a statement from the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the authorities received a complaint from beach concessionaires at 8:45 pm on 3 July. On their way to the beach, the agents spotted groups of young people on the beach in the Algarve.

The Maritime Police ordered all groups of young people to disperse, as they were violating the rules, "in particular for the rules of occupation on the beaches, permanence and physical distance in places open to the public", pointed out the statement.

The orders were accepted by the young people - there was no arrests.
