The Portugal News is dedicated to supporting live music, locally in the Algarve but also throughout the rest of Portugal.

We understand how difficult the pandemic has been for the cultural sector due to constraints from the pandemic: with the enforcement of social distancing and with many shows cancelled or postponed, limits on numbers attending shows and further restrictions at venues, it has meant that, sadly, usual concerts have not been able to take place, which has negatively impacted so many musicians in regards to their income.

The Portugal News is here to help through our new free advert initiative as a way of giving back to our community and helping to shine a well deserved spotlight on musicians.

Free advert

We are encouraging all musicians to contact us if they are interested in a free advert in our newspaper. We would love to hear from you if you would like your advert in the paper, no matter what style or genre of music that you do. Additionally, our journalists are always happy to write articles on musicians and give them a platform in our paper, so if you feel this would be of great help to you, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Similarly, if you could kindly spread the word, to help other musicians to take advantage of this offer, as this would also be a huge help in fuelling our paper’s live music momentum.

The offer of the advert is 82mm x 50mm, whereby the musician must make the advert themselves and send directly to our arts journalist: cristina@theportugalnews.com.

It must be noted that we cannot guarantee the date that the advert will be in the paper as it will depend on available space each week but our journalist will keep you informed on when it will be appearing.
