Speaking to Lusa, a source from the District Command of Rescue Operations (CDOS) of Vila Real said the fire had an active front at 8:10am.

"The fire is in a bush area. There are no dwellings at risk. From 8:30am an airplane was be activated," said the same source.

At 8:10am, the fire in that locality in the district of Vila Real mobilized 95 firefighters, with the support of 33 vehicles.

More than 50 districts of Faro, Santarém, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Viseu, Coimbra, Leiria, Guarda, Bragança and Vila Real have a maximum fire risk today, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
