In a statement, the GNR states that the Territorial Command of Lisbon, through the Criminal Investigation Nucleus (NIC) detained eight men aged between 27 and 55 years for drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and possession of a prohibited weapon, in the municipalities of Sintra, Vila Franca de Xira, in the district of Lisbon and Lagos, in Faro.

The GNR reported that the investigation into drug trafficking lasted about 18 months.

During the operation, the GNR carried out 16 search warrants, 11 at home and five in garages, ending up in the arrest of suspects and the seizure of many materials.

As part of the operation, 30 kilos of hashish, 287 doses of cannabis, 46 doses of cocaine, two cannabis plants, three vehicles, four firearms, seven bladed weapons, 118 rounds of ammunition, five precision weapons, 18 mobile phones and €2,110 in cash were seized.
