In a location as naturally beautiful as the Algarve, Quinta do Lago’s commitment to nature goes all the way back to its roots. This summer, families are invited to embrace the active, outdoor lifestyle of the world-class resort, and join in eco-initiatives and activities that not only celebrate the natural world, but help to protect it.

With a summer calendar full of family-oriented activities, Quinta do Lago provides the ideal backdrop for quality time and treasured memories, and, while the leisure possibilities stretch far beyond the fairways, its prized golf courses are truly at the heart of Quinta do Lago’s ecological vision.

In the 645-hectare resort, golf is defined as a family sport and children are supported to play from a young age. Open to children as young as six, Junior Golf Camps run throughout the summer at the Paul McGinley Golf Academy, inviting young players of all levels to improve their skills and confidence in golf.

For little ones picking up the club for the first time, Sunday Fun Golf at the kids’ driving range and putting green will welcome them into the sport with encouragement and guidance from the Golf Academy professionals. A wonderful way to bring the family together, the Mini Golf Family Competition is an uplifting weekly tournament where families of up to four play as a team to win the title and a special prize.

An outdoor sport in a pristine natural environment, golf is a gateway to deepening your connection to nature. Though this is inherent of the sport, Quinta do Lago’s €7 million investment into its courses and golf operations is set to elevate the possibilities of enjoying nature on the golf course in the Algarve.

To discover the full extent of the resort’s eco-golf vision, the Green Golfer Clinic is an opportunity to work on your play with a Golf Academy pro, followed by a private guided tour of the golf course to discover the environmental initiatives, eco-strategies and wildlife conservation efforts of Quinta do Lago’s Greenkeeping team.

For lovers of wildlife, the Guided Walk of the Nature Trails and Golf Courses is unmissable. From rare, migratory birds, to bug hotels and wild turtles, the tour guide and nature expert explains and showcases the diversity and wonders found in the wild areas of the golf course and surrounding Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Perhaps the most inspiring events of the summer in Quinta do Lago, Release to the Wild invites families to witness the release of rescued and rehabilitated animals back into nature in Quinta do Lago.

Part of Quinta do Lago’s sustainability initiative to increase native wildlife and preserve the local eco-system, recent releases have included owls and turtles, rescued by RIAS Wildlife Research and Recovery Centre and then returned to their natural home in an emotional and truly uplifting moment.

Quinta do Lago is a destination inspired by nature and this year’s summer calendar reflects this. Inviting families to learn, enjoy and be part of its commitment to sustainability, join in for quality time outside, family sport and special moments in a truly inspiring environment.
