According to the Portuguese Paralympic Committee (CPP), the place, which will be occupied by Ivo Rocha, was confirmed on 2 August by the International Paralympic Committee and allocated through the “quota redistribution method”.

With the inclusion of Ivo Rocha, who will compete in the 100m breaststroke SB5, the number of athletes in swimming increases to six, the third sport with the most representatives after Boccia and athletics, which will have 10 athletes each.

In Tokyo, between 24 August and 5 September, Portuguese athletes will also participate in cycling, equestrian, badminton, canoeing and judo competitions.
