But the recent introduction of a boat dock with garishly bright plastic boats for river cruising near the Black Anchor bar seems a step too far. I know the timeless look & feel of the most beautiful town in the Algarve is a lot of what brings us all here. Especially the views of the Roman Bridge (what could be more timeless). If the boat concession was done with replicas of the classic wooden fishing boats it would certainly enhance the view & provide fun & recreation & income. But these - in my opinion- hideous plastic things do nothing to enhance what beautiful Tavira has to offer. I mean no offence to any hard working Portugese-but just my take on this recent development.
