The fire started on the 10th floor, at around 5:30 am, in a building located in the city centre, Francisco Santos, commander of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Agualva Cacém, told Lusa News Agency.

The same source added that there are no victims, but a second inspection will still be carried out in the building.

At around 7:00 am, the fire was under control, with 25 firefighters and nine vehicles remaining in place.
