According to the company: “Several factors contributed to this certification, which are at the base of good animal production practices, starting, from the outset, with the training of the entire team; for the improvement of the animals’ comfort and welfare conditions; for quality and adequate food for each stage of growth; and by the constant presence of a team of veterinarians who supervise the health status of the animals”.

Pingo Doce Angus beef, which has now achieved this certification, comes from the Best Farmer farms (a company of the Jerónimo Martins Group), located in Cartaxo, Manhente and Monte Trigo.

“This certification is another step in Pingo Doce’s commitment to Animal Welfare and sustainable production practices, being, once again, the pioneer chain to offer consumers an innovative product that promotes maximum respect for animals” says Maria João Coelho, Pingo Doce marketing director.

In order to be easily recognised by consumers, Angus Pingo Doce meat will now bear a seal with the respective certification.
