At maximum risk of fire are the municipalities of Proença-a-Nova, Vila Velha de Ródão (Castelo Branco) and Mação (Santarém).

IPMA also placed more than 80 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Portalegre, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Coimbra, Guarda, Viseu, Vila Real and Bragança at very high risk of fire.

This risk, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum.

Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

IPMA forecasts for today to be generally cloudy on the west coast and in the southern region until late morning.

During the afternoon, a temporary increase in cloud cover is expected in the interior North and Centre where there is a low probability of occurrence of thunderstorm and scattered showers.

The forecast also points to the possibility of light rain or drizzle on the west coast south of Cabo Mondego during the morning.

The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 12 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 18 (in Faro and Lisbon) and the maximum between 21 (in Viana do Castelo) and 31 (in Castelo Branco and Santarém).
