In a note sent to the media, the team responsible for the vaccination process reminds people that they should use the 'open house' programme, with no restriction on age or place of residence, because the centres currently open for vaccinations will soon be used for flu jabs.
"Only together and with a sense of individual and community responsibility will it be possible to defeat this virus", said the 'task force', recognizing the current "lower vaccination rate", given the complete vaccination of more than 83% of the population residing in Portugal . Due to the availability of vaccines, the second doses may be given at a different vaccination centre from the one where the first inoculation was given.
The General Directorate of Health announced on Thursday that the first phase of free flu vaccination starts next Monday and covers people in "certain contexts", such as nursing homes, long-term care networks, professionals from the National Health Service and pregnant women.
Free Flu vaccines for pregnant women?
Let's nail them before they even come into the world.
Better still - let's remove both parents from the equation, bottle egg and sperm race, inject and redesign to WHO recommendations, and scroll down to accept Terms and Conditions.
I feel safer already

The only conspiracy theory I can see right now, is that there are actually people in the world, who truly believe that politicians care about them, that the media doesn't lie to them, and that big Pharma wants to cure them. Just imagine!

Portugal either has the best vaccine effort in the world, or the WORST anti-vaxxers in the world.
Because the anti-vaxxers here have utterly failed with their conspiracy nonsense. 88% of the population have now been jabbed, 85% have completed vaccination. And the under 12s haven't been done yet. Pretty much the whole population have voluntarily gone, because they've believed in science rather than the fruitcakes who think Bill Gates is putting microchips in them or they'll turn into aliens.
And you only need to look at how even with very few restrictions, the number of cases and deaths is a tiny fraction of what we had back in January, when virtually nobody had been vaccinated.
My mother-in-law had two jabs, she had a family member who was a nurse and so got covid. But even in her late 60s, it was a slight sore throat for two days, then she tested negative.
Vaccines work, and it's great to live in a country where virtually everyone accept the weirdo conspiracy nuts is following the medical professionals and not new age wellness cranks.
When these conpiracy folks get Covid, will they head straight to the facebook comments for medical advice? Of course not, they'll come crawling into hospital and be asking the same doctors who told them to get vaccinated to save their lives using medical science.
