Sporting suffered their second defeat in the Champions League after losing 1-0 at the Borussia Dortmund stadium.

A goal scored by Dutch striker Donyell Malen, in the 37th minute, was enough for the German team to overcome the Portuguese champions, who returned this season to the most important European club competition after missing the last three editions.

Sporting, who were thrashed at home in the opening round by Ajax, 5-1, occupy the fourth and last place in the group, without any points, as well as Turkish side Besiktas - beaten in Amsterdam, 2-0.

Meanwhile, FC Porto were thrashed at home by Liverpool, by 5-1, in the second round match, pushing them down to the third position of Group B.

Salah (18 and 60 minutes), Mané (45) and Firmino (77 and 83) scored the goals for Liverpool, with Taremi (75) clawing one back for the dragons.

With this result, Liverpool went on to add six points, two more than Atlético de Madrid, who won at home to AC Milan (2-1), who have zero points, one less than FC Porto.
