This book is now a major Netflix series. If you have watched the show you will know what's in store. If not, prepare yourself for something different.

This book is about a psychopath who is terrorising Copenhagen. His calling card is a “chestnut man”, a handmade doll made of matchsticks and two chestnuts. He leaves this at each crime scene.

On one of the dolls forensics discovers a fingerprint of a government minister’s daughter who had been kidnapped and murdered a year ago. Detectives now need to work together and follow the clues.

This book has won awards already, I enjoyed the characters and nail-biting suspense. But be warned it is dark and scary in some parts.

The author, Søren Sveistrup is an internationally acclaimed script writer, creator and film producer of several TV series including The Killing.

This book is hard to put down. As a fan of both the crime and thrillers genre, I would recommend this book.
