According to the daily bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) updating the evolution of the pandemic in Portugal, in the last 24 hours 12 more people were admitted to the ward, increasing the total number of admissions to 964, and one more person in units intensive care (ICU), bringing the total to 143.

Portugal registers over 1,397 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, which puts the total number of active cases in the country at 68,117, 2,469 more than on Saturday.

Most of the new cases are registered between the North and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, on the mainland, regions where deaths are concentrated in the last 24 hours: six in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, four in the Centre region and three in the North region.

According to information released today by the 'task force' which coordinates the testing process, last Friday Portugal reached a new maximum in daily testing, with 197,718 screening tests for covid-19 carried out, with a positivity rate of 3.1 %.

Of the total tests performed, 141,768 (72%) are rapid antigen tests (TRAg) for professional use.

Since December 1st, more than 1.2 million tests have been performed for Covid-19, including more than 818,000 TRAg for professional use.
