According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, 2,469 people are hospitalised today, 72 more than on Sunday, 160 of which are in intensive care units (no change).

The number of active cases declined to 586,150, 11,729 fewer than on Sunday, and in the last 24 hours 39,596 people were reported to have recovered, for a total of 2,033,747.

In the last 24 hours, a further 8,578 contacts were placed under surveillance, which now totals 633,177.

Since March 2020, 2,639,802 people have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Portugal and 19,905 deaths associated with Covid-19 have been declared.

Of the deaths with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 24 took place in the North region, 11 in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley area, eight in the Centre region, four in the Algarve, one in the Alentejo and one in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

By age, one of the people with Covid-19 who died was between 30 and 39 years old, two people were between 50 and 59 years old, one between 60 and 69 years old, seven between 70 and 79 years old and 38 were 80 years old or older.

Most of the new infections were diagnosed in the North, with 14,536 infections (with a total of 1,018,936 cases and 6,058 deaths with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic).

In the autonomous region of the Azores, 798 infections were diagnosed in the last 24 hours, for a total of 33,083 cases since the beginning of the pandemic and 57 deaths attributed to Covid-19, while in Madeira there were 537 new infections, for a total of 63,985 and 156 deaths with Covid-19.

By age group, 4,793 of the infections in the last 24 hours were in children up to nine years of age, 4,797 in the age group of 10 to 19 years, 3,530 between 20 and 29 years, 4,835 between 30 and 39 years, 5,307 between 40 and 49 years of age. years, 2,296 between 50 and 59 years, 1,300 between 60 and 69 years, 656 between 70 and 79 years and 402 in people aged 80 years and over.
