In a statement, the National Entity for the Energy Sector (ENSE) indicated that introductions to consumption - records made, for tax purposes, by wholesale fuel traders - increased by 20.99% in January compared to the same month of the previous year.

“These data recorded at the Single Energy Counter show a recovery, although it is clear that during the month of January 2021 there were still many containment measures in view of the pandemic scenario that help to explain the scale of this variation”, indicated ENSE.

The regulator highlighted that in the comparison with January 2021, “the behaviour of Jet [aviation fuel] stands out, with an increase of 46,752 tonnes (131.64%) and gasoline with an additional 15,568 tonnes (+27.12%)”.

Even so, indicated the regulator, if the comparison is made “with the previous month, there was a decrease of 84,283 tonnes, which is not unrelated to the fact that the month of December is a month of intense travel due to the Christmas period”.
